Ben Miller and Eric D. Stokes
Allen Communication Learning Services
10:15 AM

Ben and Eric will show how to take advantage of opportunities for creative thinking throughout the instructional design process. The tight time and budget constraints many instructional designers face can make it difficult to summon the creativity required to devise novel, engaging, and effective training solutions. Using theoretical approaches, like Clinton and Hokanson's "Design/Creativity Loops" model, as well as practical tips and techniques, this presentation will help designers take advantage of opportunities for creative thinking throughout the design process.

Lunch & Networking
11:30 AM

Landon Ransom
eLearning Brothers

Lanon will demonstrate how to storyboard an eLearning course. You will learn how to enhance your storyboard process and make a stellar storyboard. Making a great storyboard will help you deliver better vision of your course for your development team and give you the know-how to bring your courses to life in the way you envisioned it. Building a storyboard is as simple as following a recipe. Combining the content for your training with clear course objectives, planned interactions, and a solid design model will allow you to engage your audience, creating an effective learning environment.

We’ve Moved!

Utah ATD will begin holding our monthly events in a new, centrally located venue beginning January 19, 2017! Join us at the Residence Inn Murray (171 E 5300 S) to experience the first event at this updated and central location.

In addition to a new location, January will debut a change to the monthly event format. The event will begin at 11:30-12:00 with lunch and networking. Then, the presentation of the day will run from 12:00-1:30. Presentations will support a variety of areas of expertise, and a significant portion of each presentation will be dedicated to how the information can be used in practical applications. Many of these presentations will also feature activities and more opportunities for participation.

See you there!
